Growing up, Charles always had a scoop of gelato for dessert before going to bed. Even if it was a simple scoop of vanilla, he was as happy as can be. As he got older, Charles realized he had a natural desire to learn about gelato and food. He graduated from Kendall College with a degree in business and a minor in culinary arts. At this point, he was not eating gelato every night before going to bed, but he did spend 4 years at different restaurants around the city of Chicago working as a cook and developed his palate for finer tasting foods. Although he does not work in a kitchen any more, Charles still spends some warm summer nights with his wife eating homemade chocolate gelato.
